DIY body tracking

 

Well, hardly DIY.. but it always feels like that when you're hacking found off-the-shelf stuffs together.  Here I'm grabbing depth/tracking from a Kinect, and overlaying it ontop of the RBG image in real-time within Unreal itself.   

The goal now will be to clean this up,and use it to drive a Ctrl Rig, or some such...

More Daz + Live Link Face




Just another nightly test I did with the Daz Girl.  Took some Miximo animation and gave her some movement.  A little work on her and I think I'll start casting her in some roles.  Enjoy.

Testing out Epic's Live Link Facial iPhone App


Hey ho..  last week Epic released the Live Link Facial app for iphone.  So I gave it a whirl.  My intial thoughts are how easy it is to use, and how effective it is even over WiFi!

So I grabbed a Daz model, and gave it a go.  Not too bad for a couple hours of work imo.
I'll keep playing with this.  This may offer a solution I was looking for of how to get Virtual Talent into some of my scenes.   Just imagine this character driving the car I've been playing with in earlier tests.

Lighting Test - Desert Road



Took my infinite road setup, applied some megascan highway textures, and started to block out lighting to help me see what I see.  

I'm operating live here, but just with the mouse and keyboard.  All my fancy input devices are locked up at the office.  

The next step is to source a high-quality muscle car model, and get it into Unreal, and spin the tires based on the speed of the road.  I need some taillights, and running lights.

Also debating about giving the road a wet down...  stay tuned.

Infinite Roads

Where we're going we defiantly need roads.  For an idea for a sequence I have.. I wanted to shoot it like I was in a studio.  Static car, control of all the lights..  make it theatrical.  But I still wanted the world to be speeding by.

So I present to you my Infinite Road.  Worked out a way that'll let me spawn large tiles, that speed past.  I can vary the tiles or whatever..  but the idea is they create one long highway road.

Working on Something - First Look



So I had some inspiration with all the Unreal news.. and thought i'd jump in with building assets.
Took some digging around, but I had this old beauty laying on an hard drive.. and I think I can fix her up and make her camera ready.

I'll post more, but I was excited about getting the asset in engine.
